Holiday Message from Beth Shalom President

Dear Members and Guests,

Whether you’ve been here before or are joining us for the first time, I want to welcome you and wish you a pleasant and safe new year.

As we approach the holiday season, I ask you to consider the true value of what a Jewish community means to you personally, to your family, and to the mutual well being of Jews here at Beth Shalom. We hope our members, visitors, and potential new members can find us as a place of friendship, support, and a strong social and spiritual Jewish connection.

As our members begin to return to normal activities from COVID-19 restrictions, we as a community have also found ourselves working on recovery. I am here to tell you that we have been weakened by it too and are trying to make ends meet. We will bring back what was lost but only through your participation, effort, enthusiasm, and hopefully, your generosity of volunteerism and extra generous financial support this holiday season.

Henai Mah tov u-ma nayim, Shevet achim gam yachad.

Isn’t it beautiful when brothers and sisters gather together? How true that is for us here at Beth Shalom. (It’s Psalm 133.)

We do not charge for tickets for High Holy Days services. High Holidays time is when we most rely on your generous contributions to keep us going the rest of the year. Our need this year is considerable. May I suggest you donate whatever you can or volunteer your time as that has immeasurable value.

Of course, just having you join us for our services and events, as we gather together, will add meaning to being a Jewish community.

Looking forward to seeing you at Beth Shalom this holiday season.

Thank you, May you be a blessing and be blessed.
